Job Title: HVAC Sales Manager / Sales Trainer

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 am 5:00 pm, some evenings and weekends

Salary: DOE

Primary Job Function: Creates, monitors, evaluates, and implements selling strategy to maintain and improve the Company's HVAC sales volume and penetration in the assigned geographic area. Responsible for sales volume, expense control, market share and achievement of sales goals. Supervision of company Comfort Consultants, and other sales personnel, making certain that the company's marketing message and value is highlighted through our sales activities. Ensure that the company's monthly sales budget is achieved through proper planning and management of all incoming sales leads and other referral sources available within the company.

Reports To: Operations Manager

Daily Duties (partial list):

  • Provides training support, including communication and coordination of sales training, training center maintenance - ensuring current product mix is represented and fully functioning.
  • Achieves sales training operational objectives by contributing sales training information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining sales training system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets sales training financial objectives by forecasting sales training requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivation, counseling, skills development and product knowledge development.
  • Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and advising senior management on maximizing business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
  • Track sales to the budget each day.
  • Responsible for managing the sales team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organization's presence throughout the territory.
  • Check the status of pending quotes to assist sales/Comfort Consultants in the preparation and review of special projects and larger quotes.
  • Review all sold jobs for compliance to company standards, approve sales packets and forward to sales coordinator for job number. Tracking and analyzing Lost Job Report looking for trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of scheduled marketing activities, create and maintain company marketing calendar.
  • Check with Service Manager daily to see that all service leads are being maximized.  Report to Service Manager with the status of service leads.
  • Set appointments with customers and prepare proposals as necessary to meet call demand.
  • Supervise all house accounts ensuring that all accounts are growing each year in revenue and quantity of jobs.  Determine other potential targets to become house accounts.
  • Mentor and lead the sales team via regular one-on-one meetings to discuss new dealer targets, current dealer opportunities, quota updates and discuss competitive feedback. Teach the team the difference between taking an order and making a sale. Identify individual weaknesses/opportunities and establish training guidelines to correct any deficiencies.
  • Lead weekly sales meetings providing inspiration and motivation to the sales staff Responsible for monitoring the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports, cyclical sales meetings, sales newsletters and electronic bulletins. Identifying where our sales are coming from, as well as, where we are not getting business.



Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Previous sales management of division generating minimum 10 million dollars.
  • Must fully understand the HVAC commodity business or be actively learning the industry including buyer motivation and acceptable program models within the industry.
  • Excellent sales and closing skills required.
  • Must possess ability to develop and execute successful sales and marketing strategies.
  • Needs exceptional leadership skills, to retain respect of sales force due to successes and the ability to coach.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to influence the organization to achieve company goals.
  • Candidate must have great organizational skills.
  • Operate with a sense of urgency.
  • Make deals and execute pricing strategies consistent with company goals.
